4 Homemade Ways to Care For Skin

Did you know that your kitchen contains a large variety of items that can be used to care for your skin? As a matter of fact, a trip to your local grocery store will provide you with better skin care products that are considerably cheaper than the mass produced items you can purchase at the make-up counter at your local department store. They are easy to make and they offer fabulous results. Here are 4 homemade ways to care for skin well.

Facials are a great way to help smooth out skin problems like dryness, oiliness, and combination conditions. Homemade facials offer you the luxury of knowing what ingredients are in the facial mask that you use. Some people are allergic to some of the chemicals, perfumes, and synthetic materials that are used in the manufacturing of store bought products. A great homemade facial that exfoliates skin of all problem types is made of Chickpea (or gram flour), honey, milk, and olive oil. The paste that is formed from this combination will nourish your skin and help keep it soft and smooth.

Exfoliants are great at cleaning pores and removing dead skin cells from your face. When used once or twice a week, you'll notice fewer outbreaks of acne and blemishes, and you'll find that your skin tone will be considerably better than it was. Exfoliants can also be used all over the body and do not have to be used only on the face. You can make a gentle and effective exfoliant from kosher salt, yogurt, milk, and a few teaspoons of coconut oil. You slough the skin with a paste of salt and oil, rinse it off, and then smooth a mixture of milk and yogurt over your skin to nourish and soften.

Now let's look at one of the often used but commonly neglected parts of our bodies; our feet. No one likes rough and scratchy feet. Give your road weary and heavily punished feet a homemade spa with a simple homemade foot scrub. And because you're the one making it, you know exactly what is going into the product you are using. For a nice smelling foot scrub that is easy to make, crush 8 to 10 strawberries and mix them with olive oil and coarse salt into a paste. Smooth it over your feet in a circular motion and you'll see your skin become smoother and softer in no time.

Finally, why not take the love of chocolate to a whole new level? Chocolate isn't merely a savory confectionary that is good for the taste buds, but it's also really good for the skin. It's a natural softener and when mixed with milk it can leave your skin feeling smooth like silk. You can have silky smooth skin by mixing up a bubble bath made of unscented bubble bath, unsweetened soy milk and powdered dark chocolate. Mix up the soy milk and chocolate and heat until well mixed. Let cook, and then add it to your hot bath water. Then simply slip into the tub and enjoy the luxurious feel of chocolate lapping over your body and softening your skin.
