Help for panic attacks Sleep

If you suffer from panic attacks during the day, chances are you have experienced nocturnal episodes. Waking up suddenly with heart palpitations, shortness of breath, cramps and the sense of Sheer Terror - a good thing? During the attack in May last ten minutes, you can not sleep until the wee hours - maybe one or two hours before and to stand before the next day.

Nocturnal panic attacks or insomnia should not be confused with a nightmare. They are an extension of what you follow throughout the day - fear. The same triggers that have the appearance of a working panic attack on your subconscious mind, which even at night. Experts are hard pressed to say exactly what causes panic attacks, but they have very strong theories of life, chemical imbalances in the brain and behavior are learned.

So, what you can do for them? The first step is to obtain a complete physical examination. The first, what the doctors, is that you from sleep apnea is not enough if the air can leak into the lungs while you are exposed to sleep. This leads to pauses in breathing that stops a deep sleep. This disorder can cause symptoms similar to panic attacks at night, but it is a state quite different.

Once this or any other physical cause has been excluded, are the providers of health care decisions on your view of life management. Habits that promote sleep are imported - no coffee or alcohol in the last part of the day, no TV in room, no strenuous exercises before bedtime (with the exception of sex, which produces endorphins in the brain. Endorphins are chemicals happy if this is good). Herbal teas may be effective muscle relaxants example, one cup before bedtime can be an advantage.

From this point follows the treatment of the same plan, panic attacks during the day. If attacks are frequent, a sedative may quit as a temporary measure to be prescribed. During the administration of sedatives is not ideal, because it can be addictive, and they induce sleep, is not the quality of sleep, at first a little sleep is better than nothing. The effects of a constant lack of sleep on our physical and mental health can be devastating.

A positive approach is cognitive behavioral therapy. This is the first thought of changing processes, which in turn change the behavior. This approach is very effective, but not directly - it may take weeks or months before there are results.

The successful treatment is someone with the health plan from your supervisor as follows. The best results were a combination of all the points that we receive previously discussed. What is important to know that no one need suffer from panic attacks - day and night. They are curable.
