On Dementia, SIDS, Breast Cancer


Dementia is not really a specific disease. It is used to describe a group of symptoms leading to brain disorders. People with dementia undergo dramatic changes in personality and cognitive abilities. It can be difficult even to perform activities such as dressing, eating or brushing your teeth. You may not be in a position to control their emotions and solve problems. With changes in personality, they can even things that do not see there.

Dementia is common in Alzheimer's disease. Research shows that dementia is rising and the numbers are expected to rise in the future.

The best approach to solving this problem is through preventive measures. Cardiovascular disease, smoking, hypertension and smoking are factors that contribute to dementia. These are factors that are kept under control. Remain to keep spiritually fit and the mind is active, a regular job or a hobby could also be very useful and effective preventive measure.

SIDS

SIDS and Infant Death Syndrome is the sudden death sudden infant during sleep. Mothers whose children have died as SIDS look with an increased risk of prematurity and other complications in subsequent pregnancies. Studies of mothers whose children died of SIDS showed that more women tended to babies that were too small, and to supply an increased risk of premature birth and on.

This could explain why some women running small island states in the family.

Breast cancer

Traditional methods of treatment of breast cancer has painted a gloomy picture. The complete removal of the breast was often made, which resulted in serious physical and emotional trauma patients. But now the whole breast should not be removed through a procedure called lumpectomy, where only the tumor removed with a small amount of surrounding tissue. The rest of the breast is saved and radiotherapy, improved in the remaining breast tissue, the chances of survival long term. Although the U.S. guidelines emphasize radiation to the breast tissue, which is after conservative treatment is not always because of side effects and because there has been no solid evidence that radiation is beneficial.

It's really good news for patients with breast cancer, they can no longer be on the psychological trauma of living with it, at one or both breasts removed.
